The Dashing Dachschund

dachschund cartoon

Here's another one from the Rare Dog Breeds collection. This cartoon also appeared in a collection of Greyhound cartoons I put together. One day I may get around to drawing an entire book of dachshunds.

If you have a dachshund, or are a fan of the breed, I would be more than happy to draw a cartoon for you.

Drop me a mail andlet's have a chat.

The Kenyan Rhino Terrier

rare dog breeds kenyan rhino terrier

This is another one from the 'Rare Dog Breeds' series that I drew a couple of years ago.

Terriers are renowned for thinking that they are a big dog in a smaller dog's body, and perfectly willing to have a go at dogs a lot bigger than them...often much to their owner's dismay!

I thought about how I could exaggerate this idea and eventually came up with the idea of the rhino with the terrier handing onto the horn. The rhino looks none too pleased....

The Charleston King Charles Spaniel

Charleston King Charles Spaniel

Here's one that I drew for a collections of unusual dog breeds a couple of years ago. The dog breeds were so unusual that you've probably never heard of any of them, I hadn't either until I drew them.

Here's the Charleston King Charles Spaniel, in all it's nuttiness!

Cheers!

Do you have a dog that you would like me to draw for you?

Bedlingtons!

bedlington-terrier-cartoon

The dogs that look like lambs!

I started drawing Bedlingtons after my aunt got 'Pimmie', the Bedlington terrier. I don't think that Pimmie has ever remotely resembled a lamb in her life. she also shares a trait, along with many other terriers, of being willing to pick a fight with dogs far, far larger than herself.......

And now for a lesser-known off-shoot breed....

Gone in a flash...

greyhound-cartoon

Here are a few cartoons featuring the fastest pooch on the planet- The Greyhound. Mind you, they also have a reputation for being the 70mph couch potato......

cartoon-greyhound

I first started drawing Greyhounds when two friends of mine got an Italian miniature Greyhound called 'Pooch'. Now Pooch is admitedly not the most original name for a dog, but there you go...I guess Lassie would have been out...

Spot the Dog - Dalamatian Cartoons

dalmatian-cartoon-2

I've always found Dalmatians to be very aesthetically pleasing and just plain fun to draw. The first time I really encountered one was many years ago when my friend Conrad was sharing a cottage with a woman called Lizzy and her Dalmatian. It sounded like something out of an Enid Blyton book, 'Conrad and Lizzy and Dilly the dog at Apple tree cottage'.

The picture below I first drew a few years ago. I've always liked the dog in the middle linking the two people together.
